CWC Event I Attended

I'm really glad for this Ihop Isaiah fast. When I don't know what to say or I feel too tired to worship, I turn on their live feed and just be there. It's really humbling. One more way CWC has helped me to get closer to God. Hallelujah

My heart overflows with gratitude and love to everyone that honored me Sunday. As pastor closed the service and began to honor me with his praise and the videos from so many of my friends and Christian World family. The words spoken over me made my heart fill with joy and love. I will treasure them for the entirety of my life. To the couple who so generously gifted the truck to me, I am so very humbled and grateful to you, I don’t know how to express in words how thankful I truly am to you. I will do my best to honor your generosity in the manner the truck is used to serve our God, our pastors, our church, and our community. May God’s blessings cover you for all your days . Father God, Thank You for the blessings You have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with loving words and actions. In Jesus Name, Amen

When we moved to Dallas, I searched for a nondenominational church for my children and I. I came across this church and we began attending. There was something special about this place. Due to my role as a medical professional in emergency medicine we began to miss church quite frequently. But I made it a goal of mine to somehow clear my schedule and begin attending THIS church again, (we live 40 mins away). Just so happen at the beginning of the year I received some disturbing news, the type of news that makes you wish you didn’t hear what you just heard, but I didn’t have all the answers I stayed up many nights praying before returning to this church but I knew that I needed to be in the PRESENCE of the Lord. That next Sunday we attended 11am service it was the beginning of “fasting” I prayed and cried for answers during this service. Monday morning I began fasting, by Monday evening I had answers. I wasn’t expecting to be relieved so soon, “all that my heart can say is THANK YOU”.

The very first time I ever attended CWC was on a Wednesday night service. At that time in my life, many people would see my bubbly, upbeat outward facade and not know that deep down I was hurting. I was struggling with depression and feeling unworthy. I felt so alone, misunderstood and like no one could see me. From the time I hit the door, the World Changers welcomed me and made me feel at home, like I mattered. I felt the unmistakable presence of God in this place. As I observed the sincerity in their serve and worship and the transparency in their testimonies. God gently showed me that this is a safe place to be vulnerable and reminded me that He isn’t done with me. These are my people because we’re all His people. I surrendered and dedicated my heart and mind again that night in the back of the sanctuary. God began a new thing in my life. He delivered me, and I continue to grow in Him. My life has never been the same!

Opening my home up for prayer to my church family was the biggest blessing I could have given myself. It was meeting new people in my church family, touching new lives, helping my growth as I learn to love just as God loved. The Peace I felt after everyone left, the overwhelming emotions of the prayer needs and praying as a family United in Christ. I mean, that feeling alone cannot be put into words. I believe with prayer and my willingness to say my next yes just opened up a brand new experience in my walk with Jesus. I'm looking forward to what the year has in store for me and my walk with God. Best choice I ever made. The enemy tried to discourage me at first, But … God, he had my back through it all.. As I continued on, I felt that Holy boldness come alive in me.. To God be the glory and Many Blessings to all who committed to opening their homes..

This most recent Monday was the last of our three week prayer group. My wife and I hosted a young adults prayer group, where we experienced an amazing encounter with God each night that we got together! On week one, we had a total of 5 people. Week two, closer to 7 or 8. And the last week we had 13, with 1 person attending our group without any previous exposure to CWC. In fact, she even opened up about being newer to faith in general. Another positive take away is that everyone from the first week came back for the following weeks there after, which is a win in itself! Whether by the focus prayers, the videos from PG, the discussion we had between prayers, or just the atmosphere of community, God found His way into the room and I believe changed lives. He’s once again changing mine. So proud of these young adults and even more excited for what’s to come from this prayer experience!

God is so good! We've seen his hand at work the first week of prayer groups. The first week of prayer groups we were praying about our circles, our friends, our family and neighbors. My Husband hasn't talked to or seen his niece in over four months over some disagreements. This really hurt my husband as he's a very family oriented guy. He loves his family and for him not to get talk to them like he's used to really got to him. I could see his brokenness when he would come home from work. But let me tell you what a God we serve! The first prayer week we prayed for his family which was a Monday and on Tuesday night his mom called because her car broke down and she wanted him to come see what was wrong with it. So Wednesday morning he goes over there and his Niece shows up, pulls in the driveway while he was trying to fix the car. Don't tell me God can't do it! He is a Way Maker, A Miracle Worker! Reunited a Family back together! Go is so good!

I really enjoyed hosting one of the Gaining Ground Prayer Groups!! Our group was fairly small which allowed us to really connect with each other. It went so, so good that we plan to get together next Monday too!! We all want one more night for fellowship & just more time to get to know one another, especially because we all serve together. Since it will be post-fasting, I will be making some appetizers for us.. just great food, fellowship & fun!! It’s pretty amazing how a simple “yes” to God can create something greater than you can imagine. This group will always have a special place in my heart. I also feel these new relationships will only continue to grow. This was truly a blessing in so many ways!! God is so good ❤️

Breaking Ground is the first time I have actually fasted and my motive behind it was to grow spiritual because I need direction and purpose in my life. December and January have been very overwhelming financially and with my sobriety just dealing with life and the feelings that come with it. These things were making me stressed and at times very worried to the point I couldn't enjoy my blessings and the good things that were happening in my life. During this fast and all of the praying it has given me a peace that I can't describe, I know it's from Jesus! Everything is not perfect but he is carrying me over one obstacle at time and teaching along the way which is changing the way I think and see life as a whole. It's just a really good feeling and in the mist of all my chaos I am able to come to him and just let it all out not knowing what the outcome is going to be but just knowing it's working for the greater good.

My story is about hosting a group. A few years ago God put something on my heart to help men. For a long time I struggled with addiction and all the heart aches that brings. But one day God set me free. The joy that was in my heart could not be contain by just attending church. So I approached Diana Sanchez and asked her about a men’s small group. I will never forget her eyes lit up and she said I have the perfect title for a men’s small group. She said you can call your group iron sharpens iron. Needless to say our lives would never be the same again. Small groups are one of the biggest parts of our family and now we are excited every time groups start up.. The stories and the life changes that we have experienced in small groups will forever be etched in my heart and helping someone say their next yes! Thank you to all of my pastors that have mentored me and guided me through this season. These men are the true model of Iron Sharpens Iron. Thank you for letting me share my story!

Pastor Mark Andrews was preaching and during his message he said, “and somtimes God shows up with random checks in the mail.” I said, "Lord I receive that over my life I’m struggling right now financially and my job is not paying me vacation days that I took the week prior!!!" Monday, the next day, I checked my mail and there was four envelopes that looked like spam mail. My husband tells me it looks like trash so I should open it before it gets thrown away!!! I open it and it was four checks I’m crying at this point like, "Is this real God you are so good!!!!!" I’m all about numbers so I added them up and divided it by my hourly wage and tell me my God ain’t a God of Coincidence we serve an almighty, on time God down to the T of what we need!!! Well, it was the exact amount of hourly pay my job wasn’t giving me (crying, literally crying) because we serve a God of perfection a God that cares about numbers too since it’s what I care about!!! We serve that kind of God!!! He shows up time & time again

I pulled a muscle in my hip a little over a week ago and was at online service Sunday 7-10 and Pastor Mark Andrews sermon was on miracles and healings. I prayed along with him during the service and all of sudden I felt no more pain. It has been going on 3 days and I haven’t had anymore pain or spasms. I was brought up in the church in Lubbock and came to CWC back in '69. I have seen miracles and had miracles happen in my life many times. This is just another example of a miracle that I am the witness. Thank you Jesus for answering prayer once again,

Serving as a World Changer

I want to encourage whoever is reading this to Serve. If you're sad, anxious, angry, hurt, suffering, broken, confused, lost, lonely....serve. if you're happy, got it all together and doing well...serve. I always... not sometimes...always...leave my serve better than I arrived. Every single. Time. I cannot express in words the blessings you will receive when you serve all in. The most precious friends I've ever had I met through serving and God shows up in mighty ways when you serve and it's breathtaking to see, in real time, God's work taking place. I encourage you to serve. It really does change you.

In 2021, our pediatrician referred us to a hematologist after my son(5) received abnormal blood results. We were immediately admitted to oncology at Children’s. Test results concluded he had hypertension resulting from a large mass on his liver, and doctors couldn’t rule out cancer. I remember hiding in the restroom and crying out to God the first night, “Please heal him, God! I don’t want him to go through this!” And while I was pleading, God said to me, “Why are you worried about something you’re not even certain of? Why are you scared when you don’t even know what this is? This is nothing, but you have to believe this. You have to have faith.” Jonah had surgery to remove the 4” tumor days later. He made a full recovery and was diagnosed with a non-malignant tumor, so rare in children, that 18 oncologists/hematologists were unable to diagnose him pre-op. We were told this was a once in a lifetime occurrence and at his last follow up visit, all of Jonah’s bloodwork was back to normal.

Besides the great fellowship we have enjoyed, I am actually seeing guys like Darius, Efrem, and AJ really learning the golf swing. It almost brought tears to my eyes last night watching the huge grin on Darius after crushing shot after shot when working with Trent, David and myself. I have seen great results with AJ and Efrem as well. I am hopeful to bring out friends that are not part of Christian World to meet our group so we can give them an opportunity to say their next yes to Jesus. Last Sunday, I served early in the morning through first service and and decided to go home to help my wife ( she has been ill). Later that afternoon I pulled up second service online to hear Pastor George’s message. It was football Sunday and she lost interest with all the super bowl stats. Then Pastor George called out my name talking about serving. This caught her attention and brought her back to the service. That is when Pastor stopped and said someone needs to hear this and talked about how God does not judge us for our lowest point in our lives, but strives to pull us forward. As I looked over at my wife with tears in her eyes I realized that she was who needed to hear this. It turned into a wonderful afternoon with heart felt discussions about God and our lives. Is it possible there is hope that what has been broken for so very long in our marriage, can be renewed with God guiding our lives. Time will tell. Thank you to Pastor George and our production team for the message and ease to receive and share what God wants for all of us.

I’ve learned many things during my 69 years of life. One of the most incredible lessons I’ve learned is to never under estimate the power of prayer. I’m convinced God hears my prayers. He answers my prayers and He grants miracles. Four years ago, I received the most powerful, remarkable, mind blowing miracle of all time. It started with a severe headache. I went to an emergency clinic where I was treated for a migraine headache. I was prescribed some very strong medication that put me to sleep for 36 hours. When I woke up, my eye was swollen so severely I wasn’t able to open it up. I went back to the emergency clinic. I no longer had a headache. In fact, I had no pain at all. I was expecting to get an injection or eyedrops or maybe both. What happened next was shocking. The doctor told me she was sending me to Plano Medical City where there were doctor’s who specialized in eyes. It was all arranged. They are expecting me. When I arrived at the hospital I was quickly taken to radiology for an MRI. A little while later, they performed a CT scan. I was eventually moved to a private room in the intensive care unit. A nurse came in to tell me that a doctor would be in soon to discuss my condition. A few hours later, a group of five doctors walked into the room. Each of them introduced themselves and began telling me what type of medical specialty they practiced. My mind is wondering why do I need a Hematologist, an Infectious Disease Specialist, an Ear-Nose-Throat doctor, a Neurologist and an Ophthalmologist. The doctors began to consult with each other openly, but I didn’t understand what was going on. Finally, one by one they began to explain my diagnosis. I had an extremely rare disease known as Orbital Cellulitis. They stated this disease was so rare it was impossible to find treatment documentation. My husband, Paul, and I were told at that time the mortality rate from this disease was not good. So far, no one had survived this disease. After further conferring, the doctors had a plan. I had bacteria growing in my sinus very close to my eye and brain that would require surgery by the ENT. The Infectious Disease Specialist would begin intravenous medicine. Because the MRI indicated a blood clot in my jugular and another clot close to my brain the Hematologist will prescribe and monitor blood thinning medication. The Neurologist will perform more MRIs to be certain the bacteria or blood clots haven’t entered by brain. The Ophthalmologist will evaluate any vision impairment. I was literally in no pain. I felt fine. My only issue was my eye would not open and it was swollen. When they all left the room, I turned to Paul, and ask with a smile, “Am I being punked? Where’s Ashton Kutcher?” I could not believe this was happening. I kept waiting to wake up and learn it’s only a dream, or rather a nightmare. When I awoke from my sinus surgery, surprisingly, I was in no pain. I thought great I don’t need any pain medication. I felt ok except my eye was still swollen shut. The doctor came by to say he removed the sinus bacteria. He said now we just wait to see that it doesn’t come back. Alone in my room, I began to pray. I remember praying no stop for a very long Then I began to just talk to God as if His presence was there in the room. time.Months before, Paul and I had received Guardianship of our God son, Josh. As I spoke to God, I remember saying, “Really God? You gave us Josh to raise and now I’m going to leave him.” About that time, I received a voice message from Pastor George and Pastor Travis. They both were praying for me. As I listened to their prayers, I felt peace. I stayed awake for three days praying and playing the Pastor’s voice messages over and over. Then I slept. When I was released from the hospital, I still wasn’t out of the danger zone. I still had the two life threatening blood clots my doctor was attempting to dissolve. I was still at risk that the sinus bacteria may come back. And, my eyesight was yet to be determined because my eye was still closed shut. I received home healthcare and had multiple doctor visits weekly for a couple of months after returning home. Christian World’s care team brought food to us on a regular basis. I met church members I’d never seen before who said they would pray for me. I received text messages from members I did not know, telling me their small group was praying for me. Then the blood clots disappeared. The bacteria never returned. My affected eye opened with a little vision impairment. But, I survived. The doctors told me I was the first patient they knew of that survived Orbital Cellulitis. As I began to recover and went back for checkups, the doctors would smile and say, “You are a miracle.” “Yes, I know,” I would say. “I received a miracle from God.” I am positive, He hears our prayers. I am positive, He answers our prayers. I’m living proof, He grants miracles. I will never underestimate the power of prayer

Group I Attend

Small groups has made my husband and I truly feel apart of a body of Christ throughout our walk with God. We find that it gives us life and accountability like nothing else. Our connections with others goes from a surface level, “How are you doing” on Sunday to a “How are you really doing” on Monday when you choose walk through life with other believers. Our marriage feels so much healthier and well rounded when we are connected to a small group. There has only been a period of about 6 months where we have not been apart of one and that’s when we were seeking churches before finding CWC. We were so desperate to get connected to a community when we first joined - we couldn’t wait! We through the Freedom life group and it was truly life changing. We dug deep in our discussions, and as a result, our hearts were transformed and we made some lifelong friendships!

My Story relates to the following:

I just wanted to reach out and say how thankful I am for you all for opening the church during this time of fasting. I am consecrating myself for this 21 days along with the church. I know when your fasting the devil messes with you on a whole different level. Well yesterday I totally was feeling like throwing in the towel on EVERYTHING if you know what I mean. Anyway my mom just saw the way I looked and says “oh Maree I think you should go instead of me I’ll stay with the kids” So I went to church on a hope and literally a prayer. If it wasn’t for the church and the LOVE I felt even from a distance. The smiles I got from my brothers and sisters there I don’t know exactly how I’d be today and I don’t want to know. GLORY be to GOD!
